Pornography has such a grip on my heart. How can I change? I’ve tried everything.
At the heart of Christianity is the belief that the gospel of Christ not only saves us from the guilt of sin, but also saves us from the grip of sin. The gospel changes not just what we do, but who we are.
In this video series, Brad Hambrick, Pastor of Counseling at The Summit Church, gives listeners a picture of how the gospel helps us to overcome sexual sin. Laid out in nine steps, this series allows sexual strugglers to experience “the gospel in slow motion,” explaining how Christ redeems us from pornography addiction and other sexual sins.
All this week we will be featuring the False Love series in 30-45 minute segments on Breaking Free.
Step 1: Admit I have a struggle I cannot overcome without God
(This series was designed primarily for groups to use. To get a copy of the seminar notebook, send an e-mail to Amy LaBarr, Summit’s counseling office administrator, at email@example.com.)
Tomorrow we will be featuring steps 2 and 3:
- Step 2: Acknowledge the breadth and impact of my sin
- Step 3: Understand the origin, motive, and history of my sin
