Here are two contrasting cultural beliefs for you to consider:
- Sex is the best thing on the planet
- Heaven is full of the best things we can imagine
So if both of these things are true, why does the Bible tell us there won’t be any sex in heaven?
No Sex in Heaven?
In Matthew 22:30, Jesus says, “At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.”
I’ve expounded elsewhere how God designed sex to happen within marriage only, so we can naturally deduce here, as the original listeners would have automatically, that if there is no marriage in heaven, there is also no sex.
No sex in heaven? Many might ask what the other options are at this point!
One of the reasons this news shocks us is because we view sex and heaven selfishly. Culturally, sex has become a selfish act of consumption. And our view of heaven is typically a place of self-centered utopia. We picture beaches and paradise and all the pleasure for ourselves that we can dream of, often not with much thought about God being around at all. This me-centered paradise is a great match for lots of sex for all of eternity. In fact, several of the main world religions promise this (maybe a clue that those religions were made up by a man? But I digress…)
But thank goodness that’s not what heaven, or sex, is meant to be according to the Bible.
Sex is a one-flesh relationship that bonds a man and a woman together in every way possible. It’s why this one-flesh relationship can only function healthily within marriage. The one-flesh bond includes full acceptance and commitment to all a person is, not simply their body parts (Gen. 2:24, Matt. 19:4-6, 1 Cor. 6:15-16). You are one flesh, at all times, in all ways, which can’t be undone.
This sounds pretty amazing, and deep, and night-and-day different from what our culture calls “sex” today. But there’s more. This sex and this one flesh don’t exist for their own end. They aren’t the destination, they are simply another sign post. A sign post pointing to where?
What Sex Really Points To
After giving a treatise on marriage and sex, Ephesians 5 concludes with the following:
“’For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church” (Eph. 5:31-32).
Heyo! The whole time Paul was talking about husbands and wives and marriage and sex in Ephesians 5, it says here he was actually talking about Jesus and us! Marriage and sex are metaphors for the relationship we have with Jesus.
What is a metaphor? It is a sign post. It points to the real thing. It’s something tangible we can look at in order to understand something else. It’s a symbol we can learn from in order to understand and experience the real thing.
The real thing is the one-flesh relationship Jesus desires to have with each of us. It’s the relationship he has with those who call themselves Christians. It’s a relationship of intimate love and acceptance and support and trust, where Jesus is the groom and we are the bride. Earthly marriage and sex are symbols that can help point us toward the real thing.
This is why there is no sex in heaven. You don’t need sign posts when you’ve arrived at the destination!
It’d be like driving to Disney World and parking the car at the green highway sign with the white text of “DISNEY WORLD” and the white arrow pointing to the off ramp. Imagine parking your car there, taking a selfie with the family, and then driving home, telling everyone you’d been to Disney World!
The destination is always better than the sign post.
Heaven Is Not a Perpetual Fast
Some might disagree! But the reason for the disagreement is because we’ve been worshiping the sign post for far too long and we simply don’t have the full experience of the real thing yet. In talking of the perspective that heaven would be a “perpetual fast” from sex in the minds of some, C.S. Lewis had this to say:
“…or else of a perpetual fast. As regards the fast, I think our present outlook might be like that of a small boy who, on being told that the sexual act was the highest bodily pleasure, should immediately ask whether you ate chocolates at the same time. On receiving the answer no, he might regard absence of chocolates as the chief characteristic of sexuality. In vain would you tell him that the reason why lovers in their carnal raptures don’t bother about chocolates is that they have something better to think of. The boy knows chocolate: he does not know the positive thing that excludes it.
We are in the same position. We know the sexual life; we do not know, except in glimpses, the other thing which, in Heaven, will leave no room for it.”

A boy can’t understand if you try to tell him sex is the highest bodily pleasure, because he is convinced chocolate is and isn’t ready to understand sex. We can’t understand that pure intimacy with God in his direct presence is what makes heaven, Heaven, not that it’s some me-centered place where we eat Bons Bons on the beach, while watching Netflix, and of course, having sex. Nor can we fully grasp that intimacy with God is better than sex, both now and for all eternity. But the truth remains, which we are exhorted to believe and live by.
This is fantastic news. We worship sex on earth, but it’s also our place of deepest longing and brokenness. A single person feels unloved because they don’t have a sexual partner. A married person goes to pornography, an affair, or fantasy, because the sexual partner they do have isn’t satisfying them.
The Answer to Our Longing for Sex
The answer to our longing for sex is not sex! It’s intimacy with Jesus. We get to experience this intimacy on earth. This unconditional love where God adopts us as his sons and daughters and is well-pleased with us and we are fully accepted into his arms because of what Jesus did on the cross for us. But imagine this experience in a fully direct, physical way. Wow! That is heaven.
This gives us reason to not worship sex and it also reminds us we don’t need sex. Whether we experience the sign post or not is somewhat irrelevant. What is relevant is that we take God at his word that the destination will be much better, attuning all of our navigational tools toward that destination, not any metaphor, imitation, or sign post along the way.

I just want you to know that I appreciate youf questions and enjoy our exchanges. Be assured however, that sex and procreation is NOT the only pleasure well experience in the world to come, as the highest form of pleasure and ecstasy.
Take for instance, an ant, a literal ant. For them, gathering food on summer may be the highest form of pleasure BUT not for beings greater than they, whether animals, birds, fishes and mostly humans.
We live in a whole new level of excitement than these little creatures, we call insects. And while they also reproduce or have sex much like we humans do, sex is NOT the only thing that makes us happy here on Earth.
We also ENJOY sports, our children have toys to play with and we adults have many enjoyable recreations where we build ourselves and our relationships with our friends and loved ones.
How much more in Heaven AND in the World to Come?
You get the point.
As for pornography, we also condemn such practice, BUT just like GOD’s views may sometimes DIFFER from man’s, so is His view on certain topics, like pornography.

Pornography.
Are you SURE you understand it ACCORDING to GOD’s understanding and not according to the MODERN worldview AND man’s “moral compass?”
If you follow today’s definition of pornography which “refers to representations designed to arouse and give sexual pleasure to those who read, see, hear, or handle them” THEN are depictions of the first couple in Eden, Adam and Eve, Pornographic? Since when one views it intently, it can incite one to sexual “arousal” NOT cravings for food and drinks.
None of us, exempt.
IF we go by MAN’s definition, then is The Bible considered a pornographic literature and is our GOD the Creator guilty of pornography, since HE was the one who created the first couple NAKED on Genesis?
Is the Songs and its verses (although it can refer to BOTH spiritual AND physical love) guilty of graphic statements unsuitable for young audiences to read and hear, like this passage (a sexual aphorism) over here?
“My beloved put his hand to the latch,
and my heart was thrilled within me.
I arose to open to my beloved,

on the handles of the bolt.” (Songs 5:4-5)

The “Porn” that GOD hates, based on the Greek Word Porneia OR Pornos, (without the graphos which in Greek means DRAWING or instrument for recording), are those who PROSTITUTE themselves through their SEXUAL Immorality, NOT necessarily those who view naked art.
We Believers certainly make a BIG MISTAKE or a GRIEVOUS error WHEN we read AND interpret the commandments of GOD in Scriptures using MODERN lenses, resulting in a MISinterpretation of the text, making us MORE like pharisees who think they are holy in MEN’S eyes BUT not towards GOD.
What did Our Shepherd told them?

During those days, if you don’t do the ritual handwashing, you are considered unclean. The Master Yeshua later pointed out that the things that come out of a man makes him unclean, NOT necessarily eating/dining with unwashed hands. (Matthew 15:1-20)
These arrogant, self-righteous leaders follow their EXTRA Biblical writings just as some* Believers TODAY, trust in their BIBLE COMMENTARIES and their favorite Bible Commentators MORE, than the PURE words of Scripture.

The fact of the matter is, ANY of your elder, pastor, preacher OR rabbi, even without watching “porn” can be GUILTY of SCRIPTURAL porn IF he is a prostritute, a debauchee or a libertine, based on Strong’s (g4205) definition of the word πόρνος.
The Lord, Messiah The Prince on Matthew 19:9 says …
Matthew 19:9 (RNKJV) And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, (Gk. Porneia) and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.
Of course, taken both IN Scriptural AND historical context, the Lord by fornication doesn’t mean the wife reads or watches NUDE ART, does He?
This SIN of fornication SCRIPTURALLY refers to infidelity* OR marital unfaithfulness, by a man OR a woman who has played the HARLOT with MANY lovers (Jeremiah 3:1) the SAME sin The Allegorical BABYLON The Great was guilty of, when she have committed fornication (Gk. Porneias) with the kings of the Earth. (Revelations 18:3,9 & 19:2)
Again, IF we follow the world’s definition of pornography, rather than the Scriptural definition of fornication, are we to think OR imagine, that the SIN Babylon the Great is guilty of is watching naked paintings with the kings of the Earth?

1. How does GOD, not man, define certain words that seem appaling to us today?

As a response to that Jeff, GOD doesn’t force anyone against their wishes, in this life and in the next. However, in the World to Come, I believe EVERYONE who is saved will have the privilege to enjoy life at its fullest (John 10:10) for eternity (John 3:16) since GOD will grant them ALL things to enjoy (1 Timothy 6:17) MORE than what we ask OR imagine (Ephesians 3:20) and that, we believe, includes the DESIRE to procreate OR not in the World to Come.
Malice belongs only in this FALLEN world, AFTER the Fall where naked pictures of naked men and women are seen as evil and pornography.
This was NOT the case BEFORE the Fall of Man and AFTER All things will be restored when Christ returns.
You can have as many girls there as you want without violating the laws BECAUSE there are no more rules to violate, NO more Satan to tempt and most of all, NO more sin to be guilty of.
With The Curse of Sin and Death lifted, men are free to do ANYTHING that is pleasurable to the senses, BOTH in Spirit, Soul and Body, as Glorified bodies.
But of course NOT here, where rules still apply. We have to wait for that time to come.
To help you understand what I mean, consider for instance GOD before gave a commandment that kings should NOT multiply wives for themselves (Deut. 17:17) but to David, GOD gave many wives (2 Samuel 12:8).
Does this mean that GOD contradicts His OWN laws? No. But GOD gives SPECIAL privileges to SPECIAL people, like David and ANYONE He chooses.
Romans 9:15 (WEBM) For he said to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”
And we believe, Life would be the same for those people whom GOD will grant special privileges, in The World to Come.
The POINT is, it’s NOT nakedness (like Adam and Eve) if GOD doesn’t see it as nakedness (only the writer of Genesis says they were naked).
In the same way it’s NOT idolatry (like the cherubim on the mercy seat) IF GOD doesn’t call it idolatry.
It’s NOT adultery OR polygamy (as was in the case of David) IF GOD doesn’t see it as such.
Even The Lord Jesus took the donkey He rode on WITHOUT asking the PERMISSION of its owner first, is that robbery?
So in the World to Come, having as MANY lovers and MANY wives and MANY houses, properties, e.t.c, virtually ANYTHING you can think of is NOT greediness, adultery, lust or lasciviousness IF GOD does not see it as such.
The rules and laws that has once condemned those as SINS are lifted up and forever GONE anyways, with Satan the Devil gone forever, so therefore, as Adam and Eve was once in the Garden BEFORE the Fall, there will be NO more guilt.
For through the law comes the knowledge of sin. (Romans 3:20)
BUT the question is, what is there need for a law, when sin is gone IN The New World to Come?
A simple analogy of this would be, does wearing clothes APPLY in the swimming pool and in the bathroom where the rules of the OUTSIDE world are DIFFERENT inside the bathroom?
If someone strips and takes off his clothing to bathe in the bathroom would that be considered wrong, “shameful” and inappropriate?
NO. Of course not. It may be considered shameful NOT to wear clothes on the outside BUT definitely NOT on the bathroom and when people are having sex, simply because the rules are DIFFERENT in DIFFERENT places and situations.
Its the same thing in The World to Come.
Besides, The Scripture says we can have MORE than what we ask OR think. (Ephesians 3:20)
So going back to your original question, what IF you want to just have sex and the pleasure of sex without having children.
Would you be denied of that desire too, in A New World where the possibilities are endless?

Cases like this could’ve been avoided if not at least lessened, if people have restraint and self-control BUT most of all, if they were NOT brainwashed to believe the LIE that there will be no childbearing in the World to Come. But sadly, preachers of various denominations do NOT read the ENTIRETY of Scriptures to their members and only cherry pick those verses that appeal to the modern worldview of morality, a society that demonizes sex and lovemaking that GOD has created BEFORE the Fall of Man.
The Ants and the little creatures, the animals, the birds of the air and the fishes that swim the ocean have their own way of reproduction and for them it may also be pleasurable. But certainly, not more pleasurable than us, humans. Do you think The Angels and the Spiritual beings dont have also? Then how did the Angels in Heaven Multiply? Contrary to the belief of some, not all Angels are male, there are also female ones. Zechariah 5:9 tells us about this.
One of the reasons why ELOHIM kicked the Angels who mated with mortal women is mainly because they haven’t mated with their own kind, and GOD forbids intermarriage with a different kind, Angels with humans or humans with beasts. (Leviticus 18:23)
You get the point. Mortals, no matter how beautiful they are, compared to Angels are lowlifes (no offense), just as the fairest of the animals is still, ugly, compared to human mortals.
In the New World to Come, as the Book of Isaiah points out, there will still be people who will reproduce offsprings, perfect offsprings for GOD.

If however people, especially Christians were taught to believe that there’s a better life after this one, where we can have better relationships in a more peaceful and perfect environment where we can have everything we wish for (Ps. 84:11) then there would be less resistance among men to have, by all means (good or bad) the things they want in this life, because The Life that GOD would offer them in the New Heavens and New Earth where they can have Spiritual and Physical Enjoyment in Glorious and Immortal BODIES is more, much more than they can EVER think or imagine. Jeff W, agree, but unfortunately it seems most churches, if not all, teach there will be no marriage on the new earth, which implies no sex, children, spouses, families, etc. It seems odd God would change what he created and called “good” in the beginning. I guess this means we’ll all be resurrected without several of our body parts. Without going into detail, I’m sure you know what I mean. There will be no use for these parts according to this logic..which makes no sense whatsoever. And without marriage, that means we’ll have to live alone, can’t have males living with females. They get around this issue by twisting the verse we’ll be “as the angels” to mean we’ll be genderless vs. we won’t die. Sounds pretty crazy to me.

Well this is/was another pretty depressing article, as are most on this subject. So the author is basically telling widows & widowers they won’t be reunited with their spouses on the new earth, that single people will never have a spouse, no one will have children, no more families, etc. We’ll all just live alone. Sounds like fun. And church leaders wonder why people lose faith.

The subject there being spoken in the context of Matthew 22:30 are couples that are given in marriage, and this INVOLVES the wedding ritual because on verse 28 the quesion is, whose WIFE shall the widowed woman be? And NOT who will impregnate her to bear children. There’s a big difference, because the truth is, one can be married on Earth while choosing to remain childless WHILE there are some who are NOT married but choose to have a child through sex.
On this world this is called fornication or sex OUTSIDE of marriage. HOWEVER it is NOT the same thing or a sin in the World to Come because Believers, that is you and I collectively, will be married or betrothed to GOD through Christ, as spoken of on Revelation 19:7-9 & Hosea 2:19-20 disqualifying the need for an earthly marriage CEREMONY because we’re already married in the Heavenly, just like Adam and Eve BEFORE the Fall didn’t marry or was given in marriage because GOD declared them as helpmeets to each other (Genesis 2:18).
Notice what is written and what is NOT written on Genesis 1:27-28 (UKJV)
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Before we continue, note that it says Male and Female HE that is GOD, created them.
It doesn’t say He created them HUSBAND and WIFE, thus no need for a Marriage Ceremony OR Ritual to consummate this relationship. Let’s continue …

Don’t you now SEE why The Lord Jesus calls that Age, The REGENERATION on Matthew 19:28?
Why would He call it The REGENERATION if there would no longer a generation to be born?

I’m sure Isaiah 65:17-25 is about the millennium, because it says people will still die, except those who were resurrected, as said in Revelation 20:6. That’s a moot point because this is during the time Jesus said no one will marry or be given in marriage anymore, but they’re said to continue being married and having children. This proves Jesus only meant laws obligating marriage for reasons that didn’t exist until after humans sinned will be eliminated, not marriage itself. It’s the only thing God said wasn’t good to be without before making it. It says in Genesis 2:24 that is being gendered is the reason for marriage. People who’ve argued that we could still have a use for gender, even though there are parts used only for reproduction and sexual pleasure are ignoring texts. They only want to be thought of as good spiritual people by not thinking about the joy missing from sexual intimacy being removed forever. It’s the creation that gives the most joy. They think not caring about this makes them more godly by being satisfied only with relating to God forever. God should eliminate everything else, according to their logic, and everyone feel God, doing nothing else forever.

This is so wrong. In some places, you can get a sexual partner for the price of a Big Mac, if you so needed. And if you read the writings of ex prostitutes, they generally say it is not the sex people crave, but the feeling of being wanted.
A single person feels unloved because they have no one to share experiences with. They may spend their entire life alone. They eat alone, they sleep alone, they laugh alone, they cry alone. They may pass through the end of a rainbow, but they will never have anyone to share that experience with. They will never have anyone to sit with and watch the world go by.
And now, it seems that Heaven offers more of the same. Except for all eternity.

Heaven and the World to Come can give us the wishes that have not been fulfilled or achieved on earth on this lifetime.
To the homeless who don’t have a home.
To the lover who was betrayed.
To the one who prayed for a perfect marriage in a perfect world with perfect spouse and children but whose wish wasn’t granted in this IMperfect world …
To the abandoned child who dreamed of seeing his real parents but died without seeing them …
To the employee who dreamt of success but failed many times …
To all single women desperate for someone to propose in marriage …
… and to all the brokenhearted and desperate ones in this valley of tears …
To them all, Heaven will be more than A Wonderland where all —not just some of their wishes will come true.
Heaven isn’t all about seeing GOD or Jesus or Angels. It isn’t only about entering the pearly gates and walking the streets of gold BUT also A Wonderful Place where the saved can have ANYTHING they can ever think, ask OR imagine.
That’s what makes Heaven worth fighting and dying for.

Well Jeff you’re right, no one knows the day or hour, although we are told to watch for SIGNS indicating His return is near, BUT since you ask My speculation, BESIDES what the Savior said on Matthew 24:14 when The Good News has been preached in all a world as a witness to all nations … please allow Me direct you to the words of the Savior on
Matthew 24:32-34 (UKJV) Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and puts forth leaves, all of you know that summer is nigh:
So likewise all of you, when all of you shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
The Fig Tree is analogous of Israel, and all scholars agree and it has “put forth leaves” when it became a nation on 1948 … so we count a generation from there, that means 80-100 years MAX from 1948 which will lead us to 2048.
So My estimate is that The Lord will be returning no sooner than that, otherwise that would make Him a liar AND our Lord is NOT a liar.
So be hopeful and watch for the signs and as The Master would say …
