Here are two contrasting cultural beliefs for you to consider:
- Sex is the best thing on the planet
- Heaven is full of the best things we can imagine
So if both of these things are true, why does the Bible tell us there won’t be any sex in heaven?
No Sex in Heaven?
In Matthew 22:30, Jesus says, “At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.”
I’ve expounded elsewhere how God designed sex to happen within marriage only, so we can naturally deduce here, as the original listeners would have automatically, that if there is no marriage in heaven, there is also no sex.
No sex in heaven? Many might ask what the other options are at this point!
One of the reasons this news shocks us is because we view sex and heaven selfishly. Culturally, sex has become a selfish act of consumption. And our view of heaven is typically a place of self-centered utopia. We picture beaches and paradise and all the pleasure for ourselves that we can dream of, often not with much thought about God being around at all. This me-centered paradise is a great match for lots of sex for all of eternity. In fact, several of the main world religions promise this (maybe a clue that those religions were made up by a man? But I digress…)
But thank goodness that’s not what heaven, or sex, is meant to be according to the Bible.
Sex is a one-flesh relationship that bonds a man and a woman together in every way possible. It’s why this one-flesh relationship can only function healthily within marriage. The one-flesh bond includes full acceptance and commitment to all a person is, not simply their body parts (Gen. 2:24, Matt. 19:4-6, 1 Cor. 6:15-16). You are one flesh, at all times, in all ways, which can’t be undone.
This sounds pretty amazing, and deep, and night-and-day different from what our culture calls “sex” today. But there’s more. This sex and this one flesh don’t exist for their own end. They aren’t the destination, they are simply another sign post. A sign post pointing to where?
What Sex Really Points To
After giving a treatise on marriage and sex, Ephesians 5 concludes with the following:
“’For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church” (Eph. 5:31-32).
Heyo! The whole time Paul was talking about husbands and wives and marriage and sex in Ephesians 5, it says here he was actually talking about Jesus and us! Marriage and sex are metaphors for the relationship we have with Jesus.
What is a metaphor? It is a sign post. It points to the real thing. It’s something tangible we can look at in order to understand something else. It’s a symbol we can learn from in order to understand and experience the real thing.
The real thing is the one-flesh relationship Jesus desires to have with each of us. It’s the relationship he has with those who call themselves Christians. It’s a relationship of intimate love and acceptance and support and trust, where Jesus is the groom and we are the bride. Earthly marriage and sex are symbols that can help point us toward the real thing.
This is why there is no sex in heaven. You don’t need sign posts when you’ve arrived at the destination!
It’d be like driving to Disney World and parking the car at the green highway sign with the white text of “DISNEY WORLD” and the white arrow pointing to the off ramp. Imagine parking your car there, taking a selfie with the family, and then driving home, telling everyone you’d been to Disney World!
The destination is always better than the sign post.
Heaven Is Not a Perpetual Fast
Some might disagree! But the reason for the disagreement is because we’ve been worshiping the sign post for far too long and we simply don’t have the full experience of the real thing yet. In talking of the perspective that heaven would be a “perpetual fast” from sex in the minds of some, C.S. Lewis had this to say:
“…or else of a perpetual fast. As regards the fast, I think our present outlook might be like that of a small boy who, on being told that the sexual act was the highest bodily pleasure, should immediately ask whether you ate chocolates at the same time. On receiving the answer no, he might regard absence of chocolates as the chief characteristic of sexuality. In vain would you tell him that the reason why lovers in their carnal raptures don’t bother about chocolates is that they have something better to think of. The boy knows chocolate: he does not know the positive thing that excludes it.
We are in the same position. We know the sexual life; we do not know, except in glimpses, the other thing which, in Heaven, will leave no room for it.”

A boy can’t understand if you try to tell him sex is the highest bodily pleasure, because he is convinced chocolate is and isn’t ready to understand sex. We can’t understand that pure intimacy with God in his direct presence is what makes heaven, Heaven, not that it’s some me-centered place where we eat Bons Bons on the beach, while watching Netflix, and of course, having sex. Nor can we fully grasp that intimacy with God is better than sex, both now and for all eternity. But the truth remains, which we are exhorted to believe and live by.
This is fantastic news. We worship sex on earth, but it’s also our place of deepest longing and brokenness. A single person feels unloved because they don’t have a sexual partner. A married person goes to pornography, an affair, or fantasy, because the sexual partner they do have isn’t satisfying them.
The Answer to Our Longing for Sex
The answer to our longing for sex is not sex! It’s intimacy with Jesus. We get to experience this intimacy on earth. This unconditional love where God adopts us as his sons and daughters and is well-pleased with us and we are fully accepted into his arms because of what Jesus did on the cross for us. But imagine this experience in a fully direct, physical way. Wow! That is heaven.
This gives us reason to not worship sex and it also reminds us we don’t need sex. Whether we experience the sign post or not is somewhat irrelevant. What is relevant is that we take God at his word that the destination will be much better, attuning all of our navigational tools toward that destination, not any metaphor, imitation, or sign post along the way.

So these priests and pastors who are GUILTY of a GREATER sin, should stop condemning others, otherwise they are like the pharisees before, who strain out a gnat (careful to point out small offenses) YET swallow a camel (by committing greater crimes).
Rai , however what if in Heaven and the Millennium & New Earth, what if some Christians want to enjoy Sex & Lovemaking but Not procreate, how will that work out. Will God respect their wishes? Since there will be no diseases in Heaven and the New Earth, and no unwanted pregnancies, no one would ever have to use Condoms or birth control in Heaven.

Maybe not.
But the purpose of Sex isn’t just for pleasure between lovers (Proverbs 5:18-19) but also for procreation, Jeff (Genesis 1:28 & Isaiah 65:23). You have to understand that.
GODS Original Plan since the creation of man is to fill the earth with godly SEED (Malachi 2:15) not lustful perverts.

Couldn’t God be Just and Fair and Allow Certain Exceptions for Sexual Intercourse & Lovemaking to Exist in Heaven and the New Earth for the countless disabled and healthy Christians alike who for various reasons are often unable to get Sex, Love, Companionship and Relationships in their brief Earthly Lives ? As compared to people who had great Sex Lives, Love Lives

He MAY or MAY not. We do not know for sure. But He made exceptions with king David though, by giving him MULTIPLE wives (2 Samuel 12:8) although the law FORBIDS a king to multiply wives to himself (Deuteronomy 17:17)
But I guess when GOD allows it, its an exception.
The SAME could be true for those who haven’t gotten their romantic wishes granted here,on this present age since GOD is “fair and just.”
But then, we dont have to “assume,”because the Sacred Writings points it CLEARLY, that childbearing and procreation will continue to exist, when ALL things are restored in the New heavens and the New Earth.

Straight out answer from the Scriptures?
Only Marriage (Matthew 22:30) but NOT sex or procreation which The Creator designed from the Beginning BEFORE marriage existed, in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 1:28-29 & Isaiah 65:23)
Marriages would no longer be necessary at that time because righteous mankind have been completely reconciled to GOD as His Spiritual Wife, that is to say “Married to Him” rendering all earthly marriages null and void (Hosea 2:19-20 & Revelation 19:7-9)
At the PRESENT arrangement, its not the case, because we as Believers are still ENGAGED to be married Christ, a Marriage that will ONLY be consummated, once He returns. (2 Corinthians 11:2 & Revelation 19:7-9)
That is why TODAY, a man AND woman must be married before sex or before reproducing, offsprings.
The RULES will be different when the New Heavens and The New Earth comes.

Even the shapes of humanitys sexual organs of both male and female are designed in such a way for them to understand the mysteries of The Kingdom of Heaven. These organs are NOT just objects for lustful desires BUT for heavenly revelations.
It is only a mind full of carnal desires and malice who couldn’t PERCEIVE these mysteries.
There is a reason why a male reproductive system is fashioned like a key to unlock the door of Heaven—which is a womans reproductive system.
There is a reason why both couples BEFORE experiencing pleasure have to pass through PAIN, why a man has to struggle to enter their spouses “narrow gate” and why females, on the other hand need to bleed and experience PAIN before PLEASURE, in order to TEACH them the deeper mysteries of GOD’S Kingdom—as they being ONE Flesh—as The Messiah is to His Congregation—they through MUCH TRIBULATION must enter into The Kingdom of GOD. (Acts 14:22)
There are no shortcuts nor easy journeys to a Heavenly Life. Those who take a shortcut by having a one night stand with a harlot—whos way is like a narrow pit—only do themselves more harm than good. (Proverbs 23:27)
That is why godly males/husbands are encouraged to have their springs (metaphor for sperm) reserved ONLY for their wives alone (Proverbs 5:16-18) NOT on any woman—or “the public squares”—just as GOD’S Springs of Life belong ONLY for HIS Bride—HIS People ALONE (Psalms 87:7) and NOT on Mystery Babylon.
It is for this reason why Marriage should be honorable before all and the bed undefiled (Hebrews 13:4) because a man is made only for his bride, his own body—not someone else’s.
Do you now see HOW lovely a Godly Relationship CAN be between a male AND a female IF we, through the KEY OF KNOWLEDGE, UNLOCK the Deeper Mysteries, of GOD? (Luke 11:52)
This is sadly, one of the things the religious leaders, whos minds are stuck in the gutter, do NOT know and have NOT revealed to us, because all they see is the flesh AND not its shadow. The carnal side and NOT the spiritual side, of things. They see Sex as something to be abhorred and dirty because their eyes do NOT see, the SPIRITUAL side of it—which is what spiritual intimacy LEADS us to—to know the fleshly AND the spiritual side, of things—just like the tabernacle on EARTH, is a SHADOW of the Heavenly things. This is why The Canticles—or the Most Excellent Song was writ, for us to know that sexual pleasure between a male and a female ALSO has its spiritual, counterpart.
The milk from a females breasts represents the Milk of the Word as those who are born of the Spirit, which in Hebrew Ruah— is feminine, should desire or crave for. (1 Peter 2:2; John 3:8 & Galatians 4:29)
Milk and honey under the brides lips (Songs 4:11) represent the sweetness of GOD’S Word whenever their lips intertwine, and as one Proverb puts it—
An honest answer is like a KISS in the Lips. (Proverbs 24:26)
So may The Bridegroom kiss us with The Kisses of His lips, for His love is better than wine. (Songs 1:2)
No one spoke like Him before. (John 7:46)
His lips is sweetness itself.
He is ALTOGETHER lovely. (Songs 5:16)
As the Brides resplendent beauty is compared to the sun, moon and stars combined, (Songs 6:10) so is The Congregation of GOD in all Her Immaculate fairness, in Heaven. (Revelation 12:1-2)

So now you know dear friend and brother Jeff. What I’ve shared so far is just a fraction of the heavenly things or realities (John 3:12) revealed to Me, by His Divine Spirit, as A Comforting Mother to Her child. (John 16:7; Acts 9:31 & Isaiah 66:13)
Just as a husband and wife feels pain BEFORE experiencing a heavenly climax in an earthly romance, so must we pass through the needles hole BEFORE entering the joys of The Heavenly Kingdom as His Bride and Beloved.

You asked My opinion of Revelation 22:5 and just as Ive previously stated, what Ill give you is NOT My own Opinion, but the TRUTH of GOD’S Word by comparing Scripture WITH Scripture, so that the glory may be HIS alone, NOT Mine.
First of, to understand the passage in its CORRECT CONTEXT we should FIRST know the PLACE. Where is the PLACE which John spoke of on Rev 22:5? The previous CHAPTER gives us an ANSWER.
Its in the HOLY CITY, THE NEW JERUSALEM (Revelation 21:1-7)
In the HOLY City, there will indeed be NO night WHY? Because it is GODS LIGHT that illumines it, as prophesied on Isaiah 60:19-20 (WEB)
The sun will be no more your light by day; nor will the brightness of the moon give light to you, but Yahweh will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory.
Your sun will not go down any more, nor will your moon withdraw itself; for Yahweh will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning will end.
Where GOD is there is LIGHT, for GOD IS LIGHT and in Him there is NO darkness AT ALL. (1 John 1:5)
BUT this DOESN’T mean that in the NEW Heavens and NEW Earth darkness wouldn’t exist—for it STILL does BUT this time ONLY OUTSIDE The Heavenly City— a darkness that is reserved for the wicked, the dogs and the unprofitable servant, as The Son of Man has SPOKEN ON

Throw out the unprofitable servant into the OUTER DARKNESS, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

THE LIGHT ON THAT NEW HEAVEN AND NEW EARTH ONLY SHINES on the SAVED—just as they’re the only ones who are ENLIGHTENED in this world—NOT the UNSAVED. So that the prophecy spoken by Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled
Isaiah 60:1-3 (WEB) “Arise, shine; for your light has come, and Yahweh’s glory has risen on you.
For, behold, darkness will cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; BUT Yahweh will arise on you, and his glory shall be seen on you.
Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.
As for your 24 hour timeframe, time no longer exists, in Eternity AS WE KNOW IT today. Although there might be Sacred feasts to be celebrated like the Feast of Tabernacles (Zechariah 14:16-18), the 24 hour time period AS WE KNOW IT HERE will no longer exist there. Because we shall know time AS THE LORD OF ETERNITY knows it. As the Apostle Peter wrote—
… that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. (2 Peter 3:8)
And last but not the least, on what type of bodies shall we have, read the Apostle Pauls thoughts about it on

But someone will say, “How are the dead raised?” and, “With what kind of body do they come?”
You foolish one, that which you yourself sow is not made alive unless it dies.
That which you sow, you don’t sow the body that will be, but a bare grain, maybe of wheat, or of some other kind.
But God gives it a body even as it pleased him, and to each seed a body of its own.
All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one flesh of men, another flesh of animals, another of fish, and another of birds.
There are also celestial bodies and terrestrial bodies; but the glory of the celestial differs from that of the terrestrial.
There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory.
So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown perishable; it is raised imperishable.
It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power.
It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body and there is also a spiritual body.
So also it is written, “The first man, Adam, became a living soul.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.
However that which is spiritual isn’t first, but that which is natural, then that which is spiritual.
The first man is of the earth, made of dust. The second man is the Lord from heaven.
As is the one made of dust, such are those who are also made of dust; and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
As we have borne the image of those made of dust, let’s also bear the image of the heavenly.

As an ADDED BONUS, if I might add, our Resurrected and Spiritual BODIES like the Lord may have FLESH AND BONES (Luke 24:39) BUT NOT Flesh and Blood, because Flesh and Blood as Paul wrote cannot inherit the Kingdom of GOD. (1 Corinthians 15:50)
BECAUSE GOD is Spirit so therefore we should ALSO be transformed into SPIRITUAL BEINGS like unto Our Father, the Father of spirits. (Hebrews 12:9)
