The Perfect Sin

Last Updated: July 26, 2021

As my personal burden for the issue of internet pornography has grown, I have seen in the testimonials of our members how pornography has broken relationships.

It breaks down relationships between husbands and wives, parents and children, on the job, even lost jobs, relationship to church family, relationship to the “inner man,” and a person’s relationship to God.

When there is a secret life going on, that secret life affects every one of those relationships. A secret life pervades every aspect of life, and diminishes effectiveness in all areas of life–home, job, church, everything. For those who are active in a church of any faith, a secret life destroys ministry, and the cumulative effect of millions of secret lives is an ineffective church. Basically, Internet pornography has been perhaps the greatest push toward an era of ineffective ministry.

All the more for the pastor, minister, or counselor whose job and ministry are tied together. The damage that Internet pornography has done is truly immeasurable.

So, from Satan’s perspective, internet pornography is the perfect sin. It breaks families and jobs and communities, it tears down a person’s relationship to God, it diminishes the work of ministry, and it is devastating in every way. And it is freely available to everyone of all ages, it is only two clicks (maybe one if it’s bookmarked) away from you reading this, it is addictive, and (without a monitoring program) it is totally secret. I firmly believe that internet pornography is the sin of this decade. What more could Satan ask for?

  1. This is a great site to help those bound by this destructive addiction
    http://www.settingcaptivesfree.com/

The admin of the site was trapped in pornography for many years and God set him free. He started it to help those who are struggling.

  2. J. Smith

I agree that it is the perfect tool of the enemy to make the work of the Cross and the gospel of Jesus of now effect in our generation. I have been trapped for over 8 year now and am at the end of my sanity. Yesterday I heard an audio conversation by Steve Auterburn describe it in the exact same way as the “perfect sin”. It has made my ministry a constant struggle, causing great frustration in my own life and those around me. I keep waiting for someone to figure it out, but so far other than those that I have told and our gracious heavenly Father as I stumble along this dark hallway of running sewage. Please pray that I will do whatever is necessary to break free. I know that GOd has made a way and desires for me to accept his victory, but I am decieved into thinking that I can keep going without getting some resolve to this issue in my life. Please help me God. Oh God, please help me. My heart is ready to explode in sheer frustration from this terrible sin.
