Pro-Adultery Site has made over $20 million

Last Updated: February 21, 2014

billboard_timessquare“Life is Short. Have an Affair.” This is the motto of AshleyMadison.com. Let me add to the frenzy of the media speaking about this highly controversial, pro-adultery site.

In case you haven’t heard anything about this, its a pretty simple website: Create a username and password, craft a profile, and presto! You can now search through over 4 million other profiles from mostly married people, all looking to have an affair . . . all for a modest fee. 92% of males on the site are married or otherwise attached, as are 60% of female members. With a new member joining every 15 seconds, the site has been growing at an astonishing rate, making more than $20 million to date, helping people cheat on their spouses. They have also created a mobile application to help others access “The World’s Premier Discreet Dating Service.”

What is Noel Biderman, CEO of Ashley Madison, saying about his site? “Millions have people said they would have an affair if the right opportunity presented itself [sic]. Here is their opportunity.” He further comments, “No website or 30-second ad is going to convince anyone to cheat. People cheat because their lives aren’t working for them.

Biderman states, “Humans aren’t meant to be monogamous,” but when asked how he would feel if his own wife used the site, he said, “I would be devastated.” I guess he’s hoping the stealth use of AshleyMadison.com will not result in spouses finding out about affairs.

I’m not at all against dating websites (I found my wife on eHarmony), but this site seeks to normalize and make a profit on infidelity—not to help people find lasting or meaningful relationships.

AshleyMadison.com is just one of many popular sites which offer these sort of services. Rest assured: they all receive a high ratings on the Covenant Eyes accountability report.

  1. I think traffic would be the enemy of this site. Think about it. What if more concerned wives were on the site to make sure their husbands aren’t? I think we should make an AshleyMadison infomercial letting people know the truth about the site so that people know exactly what it is. I think the cheating spouses are relying on the ignorance of their mate. I think ALL married people need to know about this site in order to be aware. I mean, if a husband saw ashleymadison in the browser history and didn’t know what it was, I doubt it would raise any suspicion as opposed to a more provocatively named website.

  2. Anyone who wants to go straight to hell may sign up on this website. No passport or visa needed. There might be no return ticket as well.

  3. This completely bypassed my outrage reflex. I am deeply, profoundly grieved by this.

    “Come, Lord Jesus!” (Rev. 22:20)
