Web Content Producer

Are you looking for a position in the field of Digital Media? Covenant Eyes is looking for a Web Content Producer to join our marketing team. The Web Content Producer is primarily responsible for communicating with our audiences through Covenant Eyes public websites and helps marketing personnel with corporate blogs, email newsletters, and other Internet content. Time and effort is devoted toward creating and editing content that works, whether textually or through multimedia such as audio, screen casts, video, and diagrams.

Our ideal candidate has the following skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Digital Media, and Professional Writing or other related field and/or the equivalent experience in producing and editing online text and multimedia communication
  • Knowledge of image editing and multimedia software
  • Excellent visual and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS

Software Engineer

Do you want to hone your software engineering skills by improving software people use every day? Does figuring out different ways to sort node trees delight you? Do you spend weekends submitting just one more diff to open source projects? Then you may be a good Software Engineer!

As a Software Engineer at Covenant Eyes you will:

  • Work with a skilled cross functional team to create excellent software.
  • Write, rewrite, and refine software to constantly enhance it.
  • Complete meaningful, useful work every single week.
  • Increase your skills as a computer programmer in C, C++, PHP, Python, Java and whichever other language strikes our fancy!

A Software Engineer should be able to:

  • Implement easy to intermediate programming design patterns.
  • Create applications in both scripted and compiled languages.
  • Create moderately advanced functional tests.
  • Refactor code to improve understandability and maintainability.
  • Explain the value of abstract development concepts to non technical staff.

This position is available for those with a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or other related fields, or the equivalent in relevant work experience. Paid Summer Internships

Our interns build their skills by working together with programmers, testers, and user experience practitioners every single day. Each of these are paid internships for the summer of 2010. User Experience Intern

Do you believe people come first and technology comes second? Do you observe how people behave instead of assuming everyone behaves just like you? Are you concerned with how people interact with people, not a computer? Then you may be a good User Experience Intern!

As a User Experience Intern at Covenant Eyes you will:

  • Work with a skilled, cross functional team to create excellent software
  • Design, redesign, throw out, and design again the different ways our customers interact with our software (and each other!)
  • Complete meaningful work every single week
  • Increase your skills in user experience research and design techniques

A User Experience Intern should be able to:

  • Sketch out and create digital mock-ups or prototypes of visual interfaces
  • Write drafts of text to be used in interfaces
  • Rationally organize and label information
  • Observe usability test sessions and interviews and discuss observations

Software Developer Intern

A Software Developer Intern should be able to:

  • Explain general concepts behind Object Oriented Design and related software development practices
  • Create simple applications in either a compiled or scripted programming language
  • Create simple software tests, and explain test driven development
  • Explain what software refactoring is

As an Intern Software Tester at Covenant Eyes you will:

  • Work with a skilled cross functional team to create excellent software
  • Break stuff, share how you did it, and automate breaking it again. Then you get to break something else!
  • Complete meaningful work every single week
  • Increase your skills in software testing and test automation

As an Intern Software Tester, you should be able to:

  • Execute test plans and provide feedback to team members
  • Explore software from top to bottom, uncovering defects and helping the team understand and prioritize them
  • Investigate defects reported by customers and help the team understand and prioritize them
  • Place yourself in our customers shoes, and then advocate for them
