Announcing the 2023 Covenant Eyes Scholarship Applications!

Last Updated: May 17, 2023

In 2009, Covenant Eyes started what has become an important tradition: offering scholarship opportunities to students who use our service. Since then, Covenant Eyes has awarded tens of thousands of dollars to scholarship winners.

In 2017, Covenant Eyes lost one of our member care agents, Kenneth Bowen, in a tragic automobile accident. Kenneth modeled the core values that Covenant Eyes holds as a company, and in his honor, Covenant Eyes began the Kenneth Bowen scholarship award ($5000).

If you or a student you know is 1) currently using Covenant Eyes and 2) going to be enrolled full-time for the 2023 fall semester, check out our scholarship application!

One of the great blessings of the scholarship is that we get to hear amazing stories from students, and how they’ve battled against lust and temptation. Here’s an excerpt from one of our previous scholarship winners:

My journey with Covenant Eyes started in high school.  I was severely addicted to pornography and masturbation, and I knew I need to do something about it. As a Catholic, I knew that my actions were both sinful and harmful. I knew all the facts, statistics, and reasons to not use pornography, but despite all that, I could not find a way to break free. No matter how hard I tried, I repeatedly fell into these destructive behaviors. At some point I discovered Covenant Eyes, a friend reached out to me and asked me to be his accountability partner. After some searching, I agreed. It was at that point that I signed up for Covenant Eyes myself.

I signed up for Covenant Eyes, but for a long time I had no one to keep me accountable. I continued to struggle with pornography and masturbation because I had no one to hold me to a higher standard. Several years later, I finally came to a place I could share openly about my struggles. I found a brother to hold me accountable and encourage me on the journey.

Now I primarily use Covenant Eyes for the filtering capability. I still do not trust myself to have unlimited access to the internet and all it contains. I have also started going to counseling to get further help healing from my sexual addiction. Covenant Eyes has helped me stay accountable throughout this process. It is uncomfortable at times, and is still a work in progress, but Covenant Eyes has helped me to live a life of integrity. It has been one of the greatest tools I have encountered in my struggle to live a life of purity.

Hello, when will the winners be announced for the 2023 scholarships?

    • Keith Rose

Hi Enrique! Thanks for your comment. We had a huge number of scholarship essay submissions this year, so it’s taking a bit longer than usual to get through them. I don’t have a definite timeline, but the scholarship committee is working on this, and we hope to determine the winners in the coming weeks.

      Blessings,

      Keith
