- Set a Maturity Level for Each Profile
- Lock Adult Profiles
- Disable Autoplay
- Access Viewing History
Create Individual Profiles
To keep movie and show preferences separate from other people on your account, create a separate profile for each person. This also allows you to control what type of content can be accessed per profile.
Use the Kids Profile for Young Children
Netflix offers a built-in “kids” profile with preselected content specifically for children. By default, the profile cannot access account settings or view highly rated content.
Set a Maturity Level for Each Profile
Parents can set a maturity (age) level for each profile on their Netflix account:
- Sign in to your account
- Select the desired profile
- Select “Viewing Restrictions”
- Input your Netflix password
- Select the bubble above the highest maturity rating you want your children to view and select “Save”
Lock Adult Profiles
To keep your children from using your profile, create a PIN to lock your profile. This ensures that your children can only access their profile and/or the Netflix kids profile.
Disable Autoplay
Netflix has two autoplay features: autoplay the next episode and autoplay previews. You can disable the autoplay the next episode feature for your children’s profile and/or the Netflix kids profile. You can also disable all previews by editing your Playback settings for autoplay previews.
Access Viewing History
To view the history for a profile on your Netflix account, follow these steps:
- Access your account
- Select “Profile & Parental Controls” settings (for the desired profile)
- Select “Viewing activity”
