Verify Covenant Eyes is Installed

Note for Members with China-based Apple IDs: VPN apps are illegal in China, so Apple removed apps with a VPN, like Covenant Eyes, from the Chinese App Store. So if your Apple ID is China-based, you won’t be able to find or download the Covenant Eyes app via the App Store®.

  1. On your iPhone® or iPad®, open the App Store®.
  2. In the bottom right-hand corner of the App Store®, tap the magnifying glass that says “Search” and then type Covenant Eyes into the search bar at the top of the screen.
  3. Next to Covenant Eyes: Quit Porn Now, you will see one of the following:
    – “GET” means Covenant Eyes is not on your device. Tap “GET” to download and install Covenant Eyes!
    – “OPEN” means Covenant Eyes is on your device. Tap “OPEN” to launch the Covenant Eyes app!
    – A cloud icon with a downward-pointing arrow means you installed Covenant Eyes on this device before, but it’s not on your device right now. Tap the cloud icon to download and install Covenant Eyes!
  4. If you see this message after you tap “OPEN,” – Restrictions Enabled. Certain apps, features, or services can’t be seen or used when Restrictions are on. To use this app, turn Restrictions off – read on to the next section of this article to enable Covenant Eyes!

See if Covenant Eyes is Disabled

Apple’s parental controls, Screen Time, for iPhone® and iPad® allow you to limit apps. A specific setting in Screen Time, called Content Restrictions, lets you set an app age limit for the App Store®. Apps rated above the age range you select cannot be installed, opened, or used.

Apple rates the Covenant Eyes app for iPhone® at age 17. Set Content Restrictions for Apps to 17+ and then Covenant Eyes will open and run on your device:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone®/iPad®.
  2. Tap “Screen Time.”
  3. Tap “Content & Privacy Restrictions” and tap “Content Restrictions.”
  4. Scroll down and tap “Apps.”
  5. Apple rates the Covenant Eyes app at age 17. So you must tap “17+” for Covenant Eyes to run on your iPhone® or iPad®.
  6. Return to your home screen, and you should see the Covenant Eyes app icon back on your device.
