How do I block or allow websites with the Custom Website List?

All members that are subscribed to our filtering service have their own Custom Website List. Members and their Filter Guardians can use the Custom Website List to create a personalized list of blocked and allowed websites. This article will cover:


Add a Website to the Custom Website List

  1. Sign into My Account and select the member whose Custom Website List you want to view.
  2. Tap the “Settings” option for that member.
  3. On the Settings screen, tap “Custom Website List.”
  4. Review the chart below for acceptable website formatting, and then type in the website you want to add to the Custom Website List field. Please note: you can only enter one website at a time.

Block a Website

  • Enter the website name and click the red “Block” button. A confirmation message will populate at the bottom of your screen.
  • Refresh the Covenant Eyes software on your devices to activate the changes.
  • Note: If the website won’t block, clear your internet browser’s cookies and cache (stored website data). Choose your internet program to learn how to clear cookies and cache: Google Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.

Allow a Website

  • Enter the website name and click the green “Allow” button. A confirmation message will populate at the bottom of your screen.
  • Refresh the Covenant Eyes software on your devices to activate the changes.
  • Note: If the website is still blocked, clear your internet browser’s cookies and cache (stored website data). Choose your internet program to learn how to clear cookies and cache: Google Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.

FAQs

Q: How do I remove a blocked or allowed website from my Custom Website List?

A: Your Filter Guardian safeguards your list. Only Filter Guardians can remove blocked sites from the Custom Website List.

Q: What happens if the same website is allowed and blocked?

A: If you have the same website entered into your Custom Website List as both allowed and blocked, the site will be blocked.

Q: Why isn’t the social media website in my Custom Website List blocking?

A: For some social media sites, you may need to add multiple websites to the Custom Website List to block one site and all its visual elements.

Q: How much does the Custom Website List cost?

A: For most Covenant Eyes members, the Custom Website List is already included in your current subscription! This means that you can use our filter and Custom Website List at no extra cost.

Note: Longtime Covenant Eyes members may be on our legacy Personal Plan. This plan has a base rate and increases in price depending on the members and services you add. If you are on our Legacy Plan, adding Filtering will cost $1.50 per member, each month.

Q: How do I add filtering to a person on my account?

A: Simply login to our online member portal, My Account, and add filtering to the desired members’ profiles.

Q: I’m the Account Administrator. Why can’t I edit my members’ Custom Website Lists?

A: Regardless if you’re the Account Administrator, to add or remove a website on a member’s Custom Website List, you must be that member’s Filter Guardian. You can assign yourself as a Filter Guardian to any member on your account.
