Can parolees use Covenant Eyes?

It is a clear violation of our End User License Agreement to use the Covenant Eyes software for premeditated legal purposes. The software is not designed to function as a legal document of digital activity. Covenant Eyes is intended to foster healthy conversations between people who care about one another. It’s specifically built for use by those who wish to quit viewing online pornography. Therefore, it should not be used in the parole-officer-and-parolee context.

We suggest that anyone interested in using Covenant Eyes read and understand the End User License Agreement and Privacy Policy before purchase.

In addition to the User-Privacy Agreement and Privacy Policy, consider the following:

  1. The Member Care team can not view or interpret reports. If an ally or member needs assistance interpreting a report, he/she must contact the Covenant Eyes Report Team. The ensuing email exchange can take 2-5 business days.
  2. Conclusions about mobile online behavior MUST BE carefully reached. Some iOS devices can report “background activity” that the user is not even aware of. In other words, iOS devices can access mature websites without the user’s knowledge. This can happen due to apps automatically refreshing their content, updating, and etc.

Again, Covenant Eyes does not endorse the use of our software for probation/parole. Our software has never been intended to be used as forced surveillance.
