Vipre and Covenant Eyes

This page explains the process for configuring the 2021 version of Vipre. For assistance, please reach out via chat, email, or phone.


To Install Covenant Eyes

  1. Right-click on the Vipre icon.
  2. Hover your mouse over the Active Protection option, and from the submenu that populates, hover over Disable Active Protection.
  3. Select “On computer restart” from the menu.
  4. The Vipre icon will turn grey and you can now install Covenant Eyes.

Excluding Covenant Eyes through the Firewall

  1. Open Vipre and from the home menu, select “Manage.”
  2. Select (A) “Firewall” from the left-side menu, and then select the (B) “Manage Rules” button.
  3. On the Firewall Rules page, select the “Add App Rule” button.
  4. To open up the CE (Covenant Eyes) folder, click the following:  This PC > OS (C:) > Program Files > CE.
  5. Select one of these three required Covenant Eyes files (A), the name will automatically go in the File name area (B), and you can click the “Open” button:
    – CovenantEyes.exe
    – CovenantEyesClassifier.exe
    – CovenantEyesCommservice.exe
  6. After you’ve added all three Covenant Eyes processes, they should be listed on the Firewall Rules page. Make sure all three files are set to “Allow.”

Excluding Covenant Eyes from Being Scanned

  1.  Open Vipre and from the home menu, select “Manage.”
  2. Select “Antivirus” from the left-side menu, and then scroll down and select the “Manage Excluded Items” button.
  3. On the Excluded Items page, select the “Add New Location or File” button from the bottom, left-hand corner.
  4. On the Excluded Items page, select the “File Name” button and then choose “Folder” from the menu.
  5. On the Excluded Items page, select the “Browse” button.
  6. To open up the CE (Covenant Eyes) folder, click the following:  This PC > OS (C:) > Program Files > CE.
  7. On the Excluded Items page, you should now see “CE:\Program Files\CE” listed.

Excluding Covenant Eyes from Process Protection (HIPS)

  1. Open Vipre and from the home menu, select “Manage.”
  2. Select “Firewall” from the left-side menu, and then scroll down and select the “Manage Rules” button.
  3. On the Manage Host Intrusion Prevention System page, select the “Add Exception” button.
  4. Select one of these three required Covenant Eyes files (A), the name will automatically go in the File name area (B), and you can click the “Open” button:
    – CovenantEyes.exe
    – CovenantEyesClassifier.exe
    – CovenantEyesCommservice.exe
  5. After you’ve added all three Covenant Eyes processes, they should be listed on the Manage Host Intrusion Prevention System page.

Excluding Covenant Eyes from Web Filtering

  1. Open Vipre and from the home menu, select “Manage.”
  2. Select “Antivirus” from the left-side menu, and then scroll down and select the “Manage Allowed Websites” button.
  3. On the Allowed Websites page, select the “Add Website” button.
  4. Under Website Address, type in: covenanteyes.com
  5. On the Allowed Websites page, select the “Add Website” button again.
  6. Under Website Address, type in: cvnt.net

Excluding Covenant Eyes from Spam Filtering for Outlook

  1. Open Vipre and from the home menu, select “Manage.”
  2. Select “Email” from the left-side menu, and then scroll down and select the “Manage Filters” button beneath Spam Filtering for Outlook.
  3. On the Filters page, select the “Add New” button in the bottom, left-hand corner.
  4. Under Email Address, type in: reports@covenanteyes.com
  5. Select the “Sender” option, and from the menu select “Safe.”
