There are many myths about online predators. Much of popular media give a false impression about what the real threats are on the Internet.
The Congressional Internet Caucus Advisory Committee put together an excellent forum of experts to talk frankly about the issue of online victimization.
- Dr. David Finkelhor, the director of the Crimes against Children Research Center and the co-director of the Family Research Laboratory at the University of New Hampshire
- Dr. Michele Ybarra, the president of Internet Solutions for Kids
- Amanda Lenhart, a senior research specialist with the Pew Internet & American Life Project
