You Can Stop the Demand for Child Sexual Exploitation

Last Updated: December 4, 2014

An Open Letter from the Covenant Eyes President

You Can Stop the Demand for Child Sexual Exploitation

Greetings,

My name is Ron DeHaas, President of Covenant Eyes, and I am writing to you out of concern for our children.

Today some 293,000 American youths are at risk of becoming victims of commercial sexual exploitation. Child trafficking is reported in all 50 States, and America is a top 10 destination for its victims. This is not the world I envisioned for my grandchildren.

Our mission is two-fold: (1) Create awareness, expose the truth about pornography…if child prostitution is the main act, porn is the dress rehearsal; and (2) help people understand how to stop the demand for human trafficking. Will you join me?

Awareness precedes knowledge and knowledge precedes understanding. My company created a free e-book titled Stop the Demand: The Role of Porn in Sex Trafficking. This book will arm you with the knowledge to make an impact on this generation:

  • The medical impact of porn on the brain
  • How pornography increases the risk of sexual deviancy
  • How pornography shapes beliefs about women
  • How pornography eroticizes youth and violence
  • Action steps communities can take to make a difference

It is our responsibility to fight this vile enterprise, to make an impact on our generation, and to protect our children. The action you take today is the first step in stopping the demand for human trafficking. Please, go to this website, download the book, read it, and forward this message to everyone in your contact list.

DOWNLOAD “STOP THE DEMAND”

Awareness begets knowledge and knowledge begets action. Please urge everyone in your contact list to duplicate your actions. Above all, pray for those who are enslaved in the human trafficking snare, and pray for our children.

Godspeed,

Ron DeHaas

  1. Wow Really?

I know a 15 year old girl who looks 25 and drives a BMW as her learner’s car. She goes after older men on purpose. She is not being exploited I assure you. She knows exactly what she is doing. This is not 1950. Your teenage girls are not like those found on Leave It to Beaver. I also know a 15 year old boy in prison suffering for his decisions. Why is a girl not held accountable for hers but a boy is?

    • I’m not sure what you want anyone to say about this girl—that she’s an example of a women who has sex in a manner that isn’t exploitative? I don’t know this girl, so I cannot say for sure, but let’s assume for the moment you are correct. How does that speak to the problem of the women and girls who are sexually exploited?

Why are girls not held accountable for exploiting boys? My guess is that there is a societal double standard.
