Luke,
i am a little late to the party regarding this post, but after reading the original and watching the video response i have to say i really appreciate much of what Granderson said.
His point that it’s not all Madonna’s fault, nor the faults of countless others in the entertainment or fashion industries, strikes a chord with me. we cannot blame our indulgence on the external world and its value system. it is a tragedy that young women want to dress like some of the “stars” of pop culture, but the parents must exercise authority over the use of their money.
So too, we men need to be active in choosing righteousness. No matter how much worse the sexualization of our culture gets — and i expect it to worsen — God still calls us to purity.
We cannot simply curse the darkness and point fingers.
