Starting with Covenant Eyes for Android version 188.8.131.52, we monitor and filter the following browser apps, and block the other apps according to your Filter Sensitivity Level. All other apps will be reported as used, but no further information is available.
Accountability and Filtering are currently available for the following browser apps (including incognito and private browsing):
- Google Chrome Browser
- Internet Browser
- Silk Browser for Kindle devices (Accountability only)
The following browsers are also monitored with Covenant Eyes version 184.108.40.206 and lower. (They will be blocked on Version 220.127.116.11 and higher.)
- APUS Browser
- Dolphin Browser
- Firefox Browser
- Opera Browser
- Opera Mini Beta Browser
- Opera Mini Browser
Other Supported Apps
- Google Photos
- Google Play
- Google Plus
- Google Search
Covenant Eyes also monitors which apps have been used, and for how long they were used, so you will know if other unmonitored apps were accessed. For example, you may notice your teenage son used the Snapchat app. Ask him why he uses it, and have a conversation about potential dangers of sharing photos online.
Due to an early 2018 change to the Android OS, we are currently experiencing some service issues on Android phones and tablets, which can usually be fixed by simply restarting the device. We are currently testing a more permanent fix and expect to release it soon.
Locking down unmonitored and unfiltered apps
Starting with Version 18.104.22.168, the Covenant Eyes Android app offers app locking. We recommend that parents set app locking restrictions for your kids, and that your Accountability Partner or spouse sets them for you. Follow these steps to enable app locking.
