Tips for Accountability Partners

These tips are designed to help you be an effective Covenant Eyes Accountability Partner. Serving as an Accountability Partner is an important part of helping people create good online habits.

If you have not received a report by e-mail:

Occasionally, the Accountability Partner e-mails are captured by spam filters. So please check your junk mail, bulk mail, or spam mail folder and see if Accountability Partner e-mails are being sent there.

You may want to copy these two e-mail addresses to your e-mail address book: reports@covenanteyes.com and support@covenanteyes.com. Adding these addresses will ensure that an e-mail spam filter will not discard reports from Covenant Eyes.

If neither of these work, please contact our Customer Support Team at 877.479.1119.

Reports and Detailed Browsing Logs

Accountability Reports & Detailed Browsing Logs

Here, you can generate an Accountability Report or Detailed Browsing Log at any time. Select which type of report you would like to generate: an Accountability Report, a Detailed Browsing Log, or an “old style” Accountability Report (which uses an old design, and is less user-friendly). Next, select whose report you would like to view, the Report Sensitivity Level you would like to view it at, and a date range for the report. Finally, click “Generate Report.” The report will be generated and displayed on your screen.

Request a Rating Change

If you believe a record in a Report was rated incorrectly, click on the URL. On the next screen, you can either view the link by clicking “Open it anyway” or request a rating change by clicking “Request a Ratings Change” and following the instructions on the next page. Our Rating Team will evaluate your request.

Report Settings

You can choose what types of information show up on your report, which report type you receive, and how often you receive it. If you no longer wish to hold someone accountable, you can also remove that person here. Click “Change Settings” under the user’s name to modify that person’s settings.

Choosing your Report Sensitivity Level allows you to modify what level of information shows up on the Accountability Report based on the Covenant Eyes rating system. There are four sensitivity levels:

  1. T (Teen) Level – This will show all Web addresses and searches rated T and above.
  2. MT (Mature Teen) Level – This will show all Web addresses and searches rated MT and above.
  3. M (Mature) Level – This will show all Web addresses and searches rated M and above.
  4. HM (Highly Mature) Level – This will only show Web addresses and searches rated HM.

By default, reports are set at T (Teen), showing sites at a level T or above. If you are receiving reports for your children, this is an appropriate setting. If you are receiving reports for an adult, you may want to consider changing the setting to M (Mature) or HM (Highly Mature). If this is the case, you should have a conversation with the person you are holding accountable to determine the appropriate level of reporting.

Under Frequency, you can choose the type of report you wish to receive and how often you wish to receive it. These are your options:

  • Accountability Report: This is the default report type. In addition to listing questionable sites, it shows when the Internet user is active on the Web and other browsing trends.
  • Text E-mail Report: This will send a text-only report. It is more difficult to read than other report styles.
  • E-mail Notification: Choosing this option will simply send you a reminder to log in to our online Member Center, where you may view Reports.
  • Old Accountability Report: This is our original design for the Accountability Report. Every domain name visited is listed by date. Any questionable sites or URLs are listed at the top of the report with the complete address, numeric score and time stamp.

You can also select which sections appear on the report. For example, you can deselect “Average Hourly Usage” if you are not concerned about the time of day the user may be going online.
