Big Changes for Accountability and Filtering!
By Lisa Eldred
February and March have been exciting months for Covenant Eyes.
First, Covenant Eyes for Windows was updated. We made a few important adjustments, so download the new version for Windows if you haven’t already.
By now you should be familiar with our Web Content Rating System, which gives every web page you visit an age-based rating, like T for Teen or M for Mature. As part of this effort, we adjusted our ratings of Facebook, Twitter, and Netflix. These three sites are now rated at T by default, though individual pages on these sites may rate higher, depending on the content.
Finally, we made some big changes to the Accountability Reports and the Filter settings.
Now you can adjust the Accountability Report to show only the ratings you want to see. Some adults, for example, aren’t concerned with websites rated T for Teen. If you wish to filter these off your Report, simply adjust your sensitivity level to MT (Mature Teen) or M (Mature). That way, only the sites at or above the rating level you select will appear on the Accountability Report.
Of course, you can always see all Internet activity in the Detailed Browsing Logs, which are available in the Member Center.
See the new reports in action here.
You can also set the sensitivity of the Filter based on the Web ratings. This makes it easier for you to block websites based on each of your kids’ maturity levels.
You can update both the Report Sensitivity Levels and the Filter settings at any time in the Member Center.
