Covenant Eyes Awarded Project of the Year
Owosso, MI (Feb. 2, 2011) — Covenant Eyes, an Internet accountability and filtering software technology firm which serves families in more than 100 countries, received the 2010 Project of the Year Award from the Shiawassee Economic Development Partnership.
Covenant Eyes is substantially growing its business operations at its Owosso-based global headquarters. In response to significant sales increases and technology changes, the company is continuing to hire new employees and plans to make a $3.7 million capital investment over the next five years.
“Our goal is to help families use the Internet safely and with integrity,” Covenant Eyes President Ron DeHaas said.
Covenant Eyes worked with the City of Owosso, Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Baker College of Owosso, and the Shiawassee Economic Development Partnership to develop an incentive package that will support business growth in the Owosso area, instead of competing sites in Colorado and Texas.
“The resiliency, integrity and creativity of the people in our community make this all possible,” DeHaas said. “We’re excited to have the opportunity to serve our community with stable jobs and a vibrant workplace.”
“This is wonderful news and will be a large benefit to our city,” said Owosso Mayor Ben Frederick. “Covenant Eyes is a premier hi-tech company, and I appreciate them keeping Owosso as the base of their growing operations. Most importantly, this means more jobs for our residents in the coming months and years.”
