What is meant by Internet activity that “may be somewhat mature or questionable” or “highly suggests mature or objectionable content?”

These two phrases are used differently within our scoring system.
"May be somewhat mature or questionable" indicates a site that could be intended for mature viewers, or is questionable or inappropriate in its content. These websites may allow access to objectionable material. Our rule of thumb, is if a site would be deemed to mature for an eight-year-old, then it would normally fall in this category. For example, a member may go to a search engine. If you search for something through that site, the score on the Accountability Report is based on the results generated by that search. An innocent-sounding search phrase may well result in surprisingly inappropriate results, and the report's scores will accurately reflect the content. Because of this, we recommend caution in allowing children to use search engines.
"Highly suggests mature or objectionable content" indicates a greater probability that there is mature, objectionable, or questionable content on a particular website. However, some non-objectionable sites (for example those containing certain medical terms) may occasionally generate a high score. Some sites are restricted to older users; for instance, myspace.com requires users to be 14 years or older. These sites typically score either "somewhat mature" or "highly mature." Blogs or forums may also contain objectionable terms which drive the score up.
While there is no certain way of limiting this list to only pornographic sites, we have found that those sites which do contain pornographic material will almost certainly be included in this list. We appreciate hearing about sites which may be miss-scored.
