What is meant by “hits?”

A "hit" means that an item was accessed by your computer from a website. For example, google.com could record 26 hits at one time on your report; this means that your browser downloaded 26 items from google.com.
The hits consist of images, text, or files of another kind. These hits could also take you to another webpage.
