There are many filters or blockers on the market today. Most are best suited for use in families with young children. For adults, Internet Accountability is superior to filtering and strengthens a person in responsible use of the Internet.

Fast facts about most filters:

  1. Filters do not block harmful websites 100% of the time.

  2. Filters block acceptable websites causing frustration.

  3. Filters can be bypassed or disabled fairly easily without anyone knowing it.

  4. Filters do not promote Accountability- in fact no one knows where the person has gone on the Internet or if they have attempted to bypass or disable the filter.

  5. Filters slow your computer down.

  6. Filters do not build a person's self-control, self-discipline, or personal accountability. Covenant Eyes Internet Accountability strengthens individuals regarding Internet use and helps a person to develop these virtues.
