Covenant Eyes Accountability software is the Standard for Internet Integrity with Accountability through Monitoring. The program is designed to help Covenant Eyes Members (the people who use our software) learn how to explore the Internet free from the dangers, risks, and liabilities of Internet pornography. In the process a Member develops Internet Integrity.
At the core of the Accountability program is the concept that a person will learn to be more careful and responsible surfing the Internet (gain Internet Integrity) if they know they are answerable or accountable for their Internet activity to one or more ‘other people.'
These ‘other people' we refer to as Accountability Partner(s). Accountability Partner(s) are selected by the Member usually from among the people that they already know and trust (i.e. from among friends, a spouse, relatives, a pastor, a rabbi, etc.) at the time of Signup.
Note that Members are charged a modest fee for the service, but the Accountability Partner(s) are charged nothing but their time and understanding.
Covenant Eyes Accountability software is easy to use. Once our Accountability software is installed, Covenant Eyes monitors websites visited by the Member. Whenever Internet access is attempted, the Member will be asked to log in (or they can configure it to log in automatically). Internet activity will then be monitored and recorded by our servers.
All the websites visited by the Member are scored specifically for objectionable or mature (pornographic) content and the high scoring sites are presented (in one of two formats which the Member chooses) in an easy-to-read Accountability Report. The Accountability Report is then sent periodically to the Accountability Partner(s). Depending on the content of the Accountability Report, the Accountability Partner(s) may (or may not) decide to discuss the report with the Member. That is accountability!
In addition, the entire history of the websites visited by the Member is available to both the Member and the Accountability Partner(s) in a Detailed Browsing Log.
Both updated and specific (covering any range of dates in the last 30 days) Accountability Reports and Detailed Browsing Logs can be generated at any time (24-7) online at the Covenant Eyes Member Center for the Member and/or their Accountability Partner(s).
Internet access is never blocked unless the Member's computer is not correctly logged in to the Covenant Eyes system. This safety feature allows a Member to block others from accessing the Internet on their computer when they are logged out.
