Some thoughts on Groundhog Day

For good reason, those of us who live in the Midwest United States are getting anxious about the outcome of Groundhog Day.  Will the groundhog see its shadow, or not…  will winter go on for another month, or not?  This has been one of the snowiest winters in many years, so many of us, even [...]

Total Remission

My 10th trip to Texas this year, to Houston’s MD Anderson cancer center, was quite a trip. I went down and back in one day, yesterday (9/11). Thanks to Dow Chemical Corporation for providing an angel flight on their corporate jet, because my last several flights have been “free.” I qualify that word because I [...]

Building a Bridge With a Son Through Accountability

One of the key aspects of accountability is that it opens doors for communication.  It “breaks the ice,” so to speak.  It does this even for people who never get a high-scoring site, simply allowing the partner to ask the question, “How are you doing?” Well, in this case, a son was indeed looking at [...]

A Bit More on Postmodernism and Physics

I previously wrote a little about the influence that modern quantum theory has had on current worldviews.  In particular, I believe it has had a much more profound effect than people realize, especially with regard to postmodernism.  Postmodernism is generally characterized by narcissism and relativism – there is no absolute truth, and whatever I am [...]

There was a programmer named Scott Whose agility gets done a lot. It’s not a surprise That Covenant Eyes Is the best filter anyone’s got. Now it happens that programmer Scott Knows C+, Basic, Pascal, and Jot. New Staff in the Scoring Department

Covenant Eyes has recently more than doubled the staff responsible for the scoring system which provides a score for each of the URL’s visited by members. Plus, our programming staff has provided some incredible database analysis tools that will greatly improve scoring analysis. The main complaint we get is that reports show false positives. In [...]
