Luke Gilkerson is the general editor and primary author of Breaking Free. He serves as the Internet Community Manager at Covenant Eyes. Luke has a BA in Philosophy and Religious Studies from Bowling Green State University and is working on an MA in Religion from Reformed Theological Seminary. Before working at Covenant Eyes he spent six years as a campus minister. He understands firsthand the struggles and temptations someone faces when surfing the Internet, and he seeks to give people practical and spiritual resources to fight these temptations. Luke’s favorite activities include blogging, reading theology books, starting random philosophical discussions, dating his wife Trisha, and playing with his four sons. Dan Lohrmann is an internationally recognized Internet and computer security expert. Currently, Mr. Lohrmann works as the CSO for the state of Michigan. For seven years he served as the Chief Information Security Officer for the Michigan government. He started his career in the National Security Agency, and later worked in England for seven years with Lockheed Martin followed by Mantech International. Dan holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science (CS) from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, and a Bachelor’s Degree in CS from Valparaiso University in Indiana. He is the author of Virtual Integrity: Faithfully Navigating the Brave New Web.
Crystal Renaud is founder and director of Dirty Girls Ministries, a Christian anti-pornography ministry created to help women struggling with pornography addiction. As a former addict to pornography herself (now 7 years sober and counting), Crystal has a God-given passion and call on her life to help women break free from pornography and sexual sin. Since 2007, Crystal has been helping women overcome pornography addiction. She is currently writing, Dirty Girls, a book addressing recovery for the woman addicted to pornography (to be released by Moody Publishers in April 2011). Crystal is earning certification in sexual addiction counseling from the American Association of Christian Counselors. She also speaks to groups in various settings on women and pornography addiction.
Jeff and Marsha Fisher run PornToPurity.com, a site designed to offer hope, encouragement and resources to individuals and couples struggling with sexual sin. Their world came to an abrupt halt ten years into their marriage when Jeff’s pornography addiction was exposed and he lost his ministry position. God is using recovery to bring honesty, healing, and breathe new life into their marriage. Jeff and Marsha also share their story and resources on the “Porn to Purity Podcast.”
Bobby (Robert) Scott is the Pastor-Teacher of the Los Angeles Community Bible Church and general editor of Secret Sex Wars: A Battle Cry for Purity. He received a BS from UCLA, and an M.Div. and Th.M. from The Master’s Seminary. He is also an instructor at the Los Angeles Bible Training School, and a visiting lecturer at The Master’s Seminary in Biola University’s BOLD Program. Bobby cherishes his wife Naomi and six children. He blogs at Truth In The City, where he addresses the burning questions of urban culture with biblical truth.
Rick Thomas is the Founder and President of The Counseling Solutions Group, Inc. in upstate South Carolina. Rick has a BA in Theology, a BS in Education, and an MA in Counseling from The Master’s Seminary. In 2006 he became a Fellow with the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors, for whom he now supervises potential counselor candidates. Along with his counselor training he is a Professional Counselor and Personal Coach. Rick primarily blogs at Counseling Solutions.
Ron DeHaas is the president and co-founder of Covenant Eyes. He has been a mailman, a postal supervisor, an EPA-certified trainer of asbestos abatement, a quantum theorist, and a Putt-Putt Pro, but really Ron is a geologist with a flare for starting businesses. Ron has a BS and an MS in Geology from The Ohio State University and attended the University of Michigan as a PhD candidate. Ron pioneered the concept of Accountability Software, and founded Covenant Eyes in the spring of 2000, and today over 70,000 subscribers enjoy the Internet accountability Covenant Eyes provides. Ron also founded Nehemiah Ministries, a 160-acre retreat and counseling center in south-central Michigan for pastors and missionaries.
Ashley Weis is a wife and mother who has a pain-filled past that no longer haunts her. After discovering her husband’s pornography addiction she thought she’d never heal, much less have a “good” marriage again. God has shown her that without rain, beauty never grows. Now, with a beautiful marriage and a heart that knows the radiance of hope, Ashley reaches out to other women on her blog More than Desire . She has also written three books to bring hope to others.
Daniel Darling is the Senior Pastor of Gages Lake Bible Church in the northwest suburbs of Chicago and is the author of Teen People of the Bible, Crash Course, and iFaith. Daniel was a contributing writer to Zondervan’s Couples Devotional Bible. Dan’s work has been featured by Focus on the Family, Christianity Today, In Touch with Dr. Charles Stanley, and other evangelical publications. He is a contributing writer to Lifeway’s Men’s Devotional, Stand Firm, a columnist for Enrichment Journal, and a blogger for Patheos.com. He and his wife Angela have three children, Grace, Dan Jr., and Emma, and reside in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.
