In Memoriam, Jack Samad 1953-2008
A soldier has fallen… there are few organizations which are wholly dedicated to the issue of pornography and protection of children and families, but the National Coalition for the Protection of Children and Families is one of them.
Jack M. Samad, 55, Senior Vice-President at the National Coalition, died May 22, 2008. A leader and innovator in the battle against pornography, Jack has been instrumental in making us all (and particularly teens) aware of the dire consequences of following the messages of a sex-soaked culture. He continued the battle against pornography right up to the end of his battle with cancer.
Jack was the executive producer of a team that interviewed teens across America, a project which culminated in Sex & Young America: The Real Deal, a video for parents. The Real Deal was the impetus for the July 2001 NBC Dateline episode, “Sex and Sensibility.” Jack was a speaker and a debater and has been featured on several national radio programs and talk shows as an expert on advanced technology, Internet safety, today’s “sex-saturated” society and its impact on teens.
All of us at Covenant Eyes mourn with Joanne Samad, Jack’s wife of 32 years, and their sons and daughters. Memorials may be made to the National Coalition for the Protection of Children & Families, 800 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231.
Thank you, Jack, for your dedicated work…
