My interview with the author of Porn Nation, Michael Leahy
Michael Leahy‘s passion is infectious! I had the opportunity to ask him some tough questions, to which he not only responded, but pulled me through some doors I didn’t even know existed.
2 Corinthians 7:10-11 talks about a godly sorrow that includes a zeal against the sin. My interview with Michael captured his zeal against the sin that destroyed his former life. Michael treaded a path that I want to avoid, and every man, woman, and child who uses the Internet should heed his words of warning, his godly sorrow.
THANK YOU MICHAEL FOR SHARING YOUR STORY,, I HAVE READ YOUR BOOK,, TWICE,, AND ALSO WATCHED YOUR INTERVIEW WITH YOUR EX WIFE… ALOT OF COURAGE ,, TO HELP ME AS WELL AS OTHERS, WHO ,, AS A RESULT OF PORNOGRAPHY,, HAVE LOST EVERYTHING… JUST RECENTLY DIVORCED,,I AM STILL TRYING TO GRASP AND UNDERSTAND WHAT HAPPENED…. SO MUCH HATEFULNESS,, RESENTMENT,, LYING,, SECRECY,, ETC… I FOUGHT IT ALL SO HARD,, AND NOW ONLY REALIZING THAT HE WAS WANTING TO RUN ME OFF,, WHICH IS WHAT I ENDED UP DOING… I FEEL VERY SAD,, AND JUST AM NOW REALIZING THAT THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD HAVE DONE TO CHANGE THE OUTCOME OF EVENTS…. I FELT HIS SHAME,, AS HE WORE HIS SUNGLASSES ALL THE TIME,, INSIDE GROCERY STORES, ON RAINEY DAYS,, ETC….. ANYWAY,, THANK YOU SO MUCH,, I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST,, I AM THINKING ABOUT WRITING MY OWN BOOK…. EVERYONE,, HAS A STORY TO TELL… GOD BLESS… PAM
Pam, first let me say how sorry I am about your situation. It pains me to read of the arrogance, insensitivity, and flat out abuse that you and other women and children are subjected to at the hands of a sexually addicted spouse. It hurts even more knowing I was once that man you described here.
My wife and I are eager to minister to women like yourself who have been abused and left “holding the bag” and are struggling to just survive and make sense of it all. But trust me when I say that God will redeem you.
BTW, my wife’s ministry is called “Women Stand Up” (www.womenstandup.net). Christine and I are launching a campaign called “I am enough” that’s intended to call on women with the resources to help to come alongside women in need to be their “battle buddies” and rally to build a support team that will not allow you and your family to fall.

Finally, please hear me when I tell you that, regardless of what your husband might have told you over the years (you’re not pretty enough, sexy enough, skinny enough, sexual enough, blah, blah, blah), just know that HIS SEXUAL ADDICTION HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU…AND YOU ARE ENOUGH! He’s an addict, meaning he’s a pathological liar who will do anything to shift the blame to anyone but himself. He’s a coward and he is sick, but you can’t heal him. Only God can do that, and only if he’s willing to admit he’s sick and needs help, and actually seeks out help and pursues recovery with a vengance. Unfortunately, it sounds like he is anything but that.
But you still have a right to your own recovery because you’ve been deeply hurt and betrayed. So please don’t delay in getting the kind of care and counseling you need. And again, we can help with that. Finally, thank you for your kind words. It’s for people like you that I continue to work in this area of ministry. I know your pain, but I can also see your freedom that lies ahead. We won’t give up on you if you don’t give up on yourself.
