Covenant Eyes Announces Song Writing Competition

bass-guitarOn March 25 we started receiving submissions to our song writing competition. We are launching this contest at the same time that we are kick-starting our newest online network: CovenantMusicians.com.

Internet pornography is a temptation that many men, women, and families in the church face. The vast majority of men in the church, and a growing number of women, are losing this battle every month, every week, and some every day; and yet far too few people are willing to talk about this weakness and bring it out into the open. It is time to blow the lid on this issue.

The ministries of Covenant Eyes and Indieheaven are sponsoring a song writing competition to help bring this problem into the light. If you are a Christian musician, write and submit a song about the temptations of lust and/or pornography and the freedom that is possible when we confess our sins to God and one another.

Rules and Guidelines to submit your song:

  • There is no fee to submit the song. It is free.
  • The submission process is open to anyone who is a member of Covenant Musicians (there is no fee for a Covenant Musicians’ membership). If you are not yet a Covenant Musicians member, you can sign up after you submit your song, as long as you do so before the song submission deadline.
  • You do not need to be a member of Indieheaven in order to submit.
  • Songs do not need to be professionally produced or radio-ready. Songs must be submitted at 128kbps, 44.1 khz, 16 bit, MP3 files. Only 1 song per email address, please.
  • The deadline to enter songs is May 16, 2009. Five finalists will be posted on CovenantMusicians.com shortly after deadline. A panel of judges (TBA) will vote on their favorite song and the grand prize winner will be announced May 29, 2009.
  • The grand prize winner will receive a free one-year membership to Indieheaven.com, a free one-year membership to Covenant Eyes, and the winning song and artist(s) will be used in a professional video production featuring the song.
