Casting Crowns Concert Volunteers Respond

I have always loved the music and ministry of Casting Crowns. I believe there is an anointing on them to reach hearts and souls for Jesus. I had the privilege of attending one of their concerts here in Michigan in 2005. What a blessing to be able to worship with several thousand people. I felt like I experienced a little of what Heaven will be like.

I got to be the coordinator to recruit helpers for the Casting Crowns Fall Tour. I was able to offer the opportunity to attend the concert and actually meet Mark Hall. They would meet Casting Crowns along with the other bands at the “Meet and Greet” before the concert. It was fun calling people in the different venue locations and explaining that I had free tickets for them if they would help us out at the Covenant Eyes and Global Youth Ministry table. The response I got was awesome! They were all so appreciative to have been chosen to help. All I could say was that God had zeroed in on each of their names. I was moved at how God directs us in every detail of what we do and how it touches others.

Every location was different and the Lord used a variety of folks and organizations to help out. Alabama Teen Challenge provided helpers in two different concert locations. Christ for the Nations put a team together for one concert. The Portland Rescue Mission had an overwhelming response when I called for helpers. God led me to families who manned the table as a team. I had several worship teams who were excited to pitch in. Many pastors pulled teams together for several concerts. This was the first night out for one couple who are new parents. Everyone was blessed and eager to share their experiences in fighting back against porn.

I received many comments from our helpers and shared them with our president and founder Ron DeHaas. Ron decided to start this blog so we could share these comments with our members. I hope you are blessed too.

By the way, Bobby is the On Site Coordinator at each concert and shows the helpers what to do. Bobby is a total blessing and actually travels from concert to concert. Please keep him and the bands in your prayers.

Below are some of the responses we got from the helpers at the Casting Crowns concerts.

“Bobby was great to work with! He was very helpful and was filled with the light of Christ, as were all of the band members we met during the Meet & Greet. I was really impressed with how down-to-earth and friendly everyone was. Casting Crowns and Leeland came right up and introduced themselves to us. They seemed excited about what Covenant Eyes is doing to help this generation walk with integrity.

Thanks for giving some of the worship team at Crown Valley Vineyard the opportunity to help your ministry! Have a great day!” Charity, 09-30-2007, Anaheim, CA Anaheim Convention Center

“I wanted to thank you for the tickets to Casting Crowns. My daughter is still talking about it. It was also nice to see many of the members from our church at the concert. The performance was great. Thanks again.” — Pastor Jason Rosedale Bible Church 10-01-2007 Bakersfield, CA

“I wanted to send some impressions of the concert and working at the Covenant Eyes booth.

The Concert was pretty amazing especially as close as we were. It had plenty of well known songs with a couple of great mission testimonials from Casting Crowns. It was nice to see how they are serving other parts of the world and how they motivated people in the audience to participate as well.” — Kyle, 10-12-2007, North Little Rock, AR Alltel Arena

“My name is Eric Thomas and I attended the concert in Lexington, Ky. a couple of weeks ago. Bobby showed me where the material was located and I handed out the material as people walked by. People were not very interested in talking, although four to five people talked with me for 3-5 minutes about the program and how it worked. I met a few people who used the program and received good feedback from them.

Everyone was great and it was very easy. I love the ministry and would be willing to do it again. I am not a huge music person, but I did enjoy Casting Crowns. The concert was a lot better than I imagined.” — Eric, 11-16-2007, Lexintgon, KY Rupp Arena
